“Must TV.” Today and tomorrow before some angry elected officials – especially the ones filing their teeth this morning on the steps of the Capitol.
The folks at WaPost reported last night that they had seen a letter sent by Special Counsel Bobby Mueller, in late March, to Attorney General Billy Barr complaining about the four-page memo Billy sent to Congress describing the principal conclusions of the investigation into the 45th president “did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance” of Mueller’s work.
Let me refresh your memory as regards that memo…
That Mueller letter and a subsequent phone call between the two men reveal the degree to which the longtime colleagues and friends disagreed !!! as they handled the legally and politically fraught task of investigating Donald John Trump and his cabal of toadies.
Democrats in Congress are likely to now deepen their scrutiny given Mueller’s complaints to Barr as they contemplate the prospect of opening impeachment proceedings, and mull how hard to press for Mueller himself to testify publicly.
Keep in mind, at the time Mueller’s letter was sent to Barr on March 27th, Barr had days prior announced that Mueller did NOT find a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russian officials seeking to interfere in the ’16 presidential election.
Billy also said that Mueller had NOT reached a conclusion about whether Trump had tried “to obstruct justice,” but that Billy reviewed the evidence and found it insufficient to support such a charge.
It appears to me, that the corpulent Billy eat the chocolates!!!
The letter made a key request: that Barr release the 448-page report’s introductions and executive summaries, and it made initial suggested redactions for doing so, according to the WaPost.
Billy is scheduled to appear this morning before the Senate Judiciary Committee – a much-anticipated public confrontation between the nation’s top law enforcement official and crazed Democratic lawmakers [including three ’20 presidential hopefuls – Cory, Kamala and Amy], where he is likely to be questioned at length about his interactions with Mueller.
Think Lindsey Graham [committee chair] got a good night’s sleep!!?????????????
Expect the Attorney General to reference the ‘proper legal standards’ on ALL matters of “deep concern.”
Billy will display his oafish image throughout…
This is simple…Mueller has to testify before Congress to explain exactly !!!!!! how his report was mischaracterized by Barr.
